Im Rahmen des Symposiums zeigt Otmar Wagner die Essay-Performance "Ästhetik der Absperrung". Es geht um 'Grenzen' - ausgehend von Spielfeld, seiner Historie und den dortigen Vorgängen im Herbst 2015. Davon ausgehend untersucht Wagner Grenzen weltweit aus ästhetisch-künstlerischer Perspektive. Der Assoziationstrip führt von historischen Beispielen (Berliner Mauer, Chinesische Mauer) bis hin zur Untersuchung aktueller Grenzen: Arizona/USA, Westsahara, Israel, Kaschmir, Nordkorea, Griechenland, Bulgarien, Zypern, Nordirland, Mazedonien, die spanischen Enklaven Ceuta und Melilla, Ungarn usw., und mündet wieder in Spielfeld. Es geht um die Ästhetik des Grenzschutzes, um die Macht des Medialen und um 'ethnokulturelle Identität'.

At the symposium, Otmar Wagner presents the essay performance "Aesthetics of the Barrier”. It is about boundaries - starting from Spielfeld, its history and the events there in the autumn of 2015. Based on this, Wagner explores boundaries from an aesthetic-artistic perspective. The association trip leads from historical examples (Berlin Wall, Great Wall of China) to the investigation of current borders: Arizona / USA, West Sahara, Israel, Kashmir, North Korea, Greece, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Northern Ireland, Macedonia, the Spanish enclaves Ceuta and Melilla, Hungary Etc., and emerges back to Spielfeld. The piece revolves around the aesthetics of border protection, about the power of the media and about 'ethnocultural identity'.
